Apprenticeship Pre-Registration

 (   If you are interested in the Hawaii Laborers’ Apprenticeship & Training Program, please complete the form below; this is NOT an application.

After submitting this form, you will be requested to email a copy of your high school diploma, GED, or proof of at least a 10th-grade education (transcript), a valid government-issued picture ID, and your social security card to apprenticeship@hiltp.org.

Furthermore, if you are pre-registering for the island of Kauai, Maui, and the Big Island…the community colleges on those islands require proof of  vaccination (MMR, Varicella, TDap, and TB clearance) to be on campus.  Download the proof of vaccination form below…and take it to your doctor or pharmacy to complete the form.

Once received, your name will be placed on a list to attend a 4-day pre-apprenticeship evaluation (boot camp). Once an boot camp is scheduled, you will be notified by phone number or email of an orientation meeting and the boot camp dates. Should your phone number or email address change, it is your responsibilty to contact us at (808) 455-7979 ext. 2 to update your information. The minimum requirements are as follows and must be submitted by mail, email or in person when requested.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 17 years of age (18 year old for Environmental Apprenticeship)
  • A valid government-issued picture ID with proof of age
  • Social security card (BRING TO ORIENTATION MEETING)
  • High School Diploma, GED Equivalent, or proof of at least a 10th-grade education (high school transcript)
  • Proof of Vaccinations (MMR, Varicella, TDap, and TB clearance) for Kauai, Maui, and Big Island apprentices only
  • Attend Pre-Apprentice Orientation
  • Pass drug screening test  (Note: Marijuana use is NOT ALLOWED in the construction industry regardless if you have a medical marijuana card)
  • Pass a 4-day Pre-Apprenticeship evaluation (boot camp)
  • Register at the Laborers Union hall, Local 368, and pay the union initiation, registration, union and supplemental dues when dispatched to work
